How I can find freelance marketing public relations job?
I currently work in marketing and public relations and I thinking of quitting my full time job in a few months to return to school and earn a second degree in civil engineering (and therefore a career change.) While I'm at school, I need to earn some money, and I imagine that a good choice for me would be to separate marketing / public relations projects – Flexible hours and hourly pay better luck than waiting tables. For those of you who currently do independent marketing / PR, do you have any advice for finding work? I searched craigslist, but this is not always reliable (I do not want those jobs, free work-but-build-your-wallet). I'm in the Chicago area, if you make the difference. Also, if I can create an online portfolio of my work, does anyone know if I can have the job I've done for my current employer (now or after my departure)? Do not want to get into any copyright problems. I'm not sure how to approach my boss with that question yet.
