How I can verify the quality of architectural and coding of a web project?
I'm not a programmer and would like to outsource the creation a website. How I can verify that the source is in line with industry standards and best coding practices. Basically, How I can prove or validate that the work is of high quality (ie, scalability, Seo, Canadian independent database of architectural integrity, etc)? Is there software available for download or I have to hire someone to review the code? I've heard of a program called "police style" C # development. Is there one for php? It would be an adequate tool for my needs? Thanks
My advice is to hire an established company with a history Delivery of these things you think are important. In addition, a Director of Engineering (or a programmer friend) can help verify what has been done. No way simple, automated way for achieving this. A "style Cop" type program will tell if the programmer has been using 3-space indents instead of "scripts 2-space is recommended "(just a random example) – but will not tell if the site is scalable, SEO optimized, and so on. Your best bet is to hire a shop that knows what they are doing and share their needs with them.
