is verizons $ 30 5gb plan or really GB Unlimited each month?

I want to buy an amazing robot with the 30 $ data plan on top of my text and the call. will i be limited to Internet use 5GB (my youtube web applications (not project specific random) probably store data and market Hulu email? and other random sites) so for those sites I'm off at 5 GB cap or is the unlimited data plan required for the $ 30 data? and if I am a cap on my phone tells me when I go to my best use of data or am I supposed to keep track of it.
